GBYO Community Scholarship Fund Renewed through 2012

We are pleased to announce a two-year renewal of the GBYO Community Scholarship Fund (formally the Music For All program), sponsored by the Medicor Foundation.

This program is designed to help students in financial need participate in GBYO. Thanks to the generous grants from the Medicor Foundation, a charitable organization that contributes significantly to improve the well-being of people in need, the impact of the GBYO Community Scholarship Fund will be extended.

GBY

Theory Class

This program is open to any GBYO or non-GBYO student interested in enhancing their musical skills, understand music, and become well-rounded musicians.

The goal of the course is to get practical musical knowledge (including rhythm reading, sight singing, etc.) connected with skills that will allow students to excel as orchestral and chamber ensemble musicians.

Taught by CU faculty member Kari Kraakevik, the class will meet on Tuesdays. Click here for more information and to sign up.

Chamber Music

Chamber music is music played in small groups, usually 4 person groups like string quartets. It’s performed without a conductor. Chamber music is a fantastic way to strengthen the building blocks of music and accelerate musicianship. We’re working with coaches from CU, including some of -- no exaggeration! -- the world’s finest musicians and chamber musicians. Click here for more.
